945 Liberty Street, The Burg.
Once upon a time this was Peps Steak House.
I remember my Grandma would go to the Ukrainian Church on
Adeline Street on Tuesdays for Bingo and when she came
back she would buy us Pizza Rolls from Peps:)
Peps Cheesesteaks were delicious. They knew how to do
onions:)
I painted that house to the right of Pep's on a very windy day. If I don't have a nightmare tonight it will be amazing, not only do I hate heights but the wind holy smoke that was horrible. That was in about 1975 or so.
ReplyDeleteI can see the couple that owned
ReplyDeletethat house next door in my mind
but can't remember their names.
They were both sorta 50ish , he
was tall and thin ,she was shorter.
We lived at 824 Liberty 1 block
away:)
I remember Carlynn "Lynny" Berson living in the house next to Peps...74 or 75. Her grandmother and aunt lived in the house directly behind it that fronted on Franklin Street.
