Franklin Park, Franklin Park
Many of the views of Franklin Park from the Stanton Avenue
side look the same to me as they did 40 years ago. The other
side of the park where they have now moved the play area
and taken away the basketball courts and the rocket is totally
different. But this picture brings back childhood memories
of baseball and whiffleball and football:)
Hi again Mack: Now that I think about it, you seldom show all the park benches in Franklin Park. It was one of the most comfortable places me and my future wife would visit. Especially in the depression years when all we could afford was a walk in the park from her home on Howell St. I spent a lot of time between the park and Franklin School, where I watched a lot of basketball games.
